The Buzz (7)
Here is what we get up to when we're not greeting cruise ships.
VicAM is pleased to say that it's first breakfast meeting in some time went extraordinarily well. John Vickers gave an excellent talk on Festival Tourism to 19 attendees... a substantial increase over our earlier breakfast meetings. The audience was engaged enough that I had to go ask the hotel if it was OK if we ran over our allotted time.
Stay tuned for our next meeting.

John Vickers is known as Victoria's Mr. Festival. He produces the Victoria International Kite Festival in May, the Victoria International Buskers Festival in July and the Victoria International Chalk Festival in September. He is also the pumpkin artist behind Oak Bay's 'Pumpkin Art on the Ave' each September.
John has been an avid booster for both community and tourism through the formation of fun, free, family oriented festivals. Join us to hear John discuss how festivals play an important role in our community.
This event sponsored by PixelSplash, quality graphics design, web design and PC repair services.
A long-term lease deal with the province means security and stability for Black Ball Ferry Line and a chance for the 56-year-old company to look long-term.
As some of you know (and have pointed out to me), VicAM's presence on Facebook has been... uh.... how shall I put this delicately.... infrequent.

It's been a long time coming but VicAM's new web site is live (and you're looking at it).
Now, all we need to do is get all of our members published, find everything that is missing from the old site, and fix everything that's wrong with the new site. it's a piece of cake!
